What is WeBeGreen?
With environmental collapse comes a deluge of threats to peace, security and stability. The climate emergency we are facing requires nothing less than a revolution. A revolution to overthrow entrenched business as usual and the stubborn status quo. The abdication of our environmental leadership is criminal. As such, it falls on the shoulders of grassroot movements to trigger the systemic changes we desperately need.
WeBeGreen believes in action that rallies communities to orchestrate change by applying pressure above, from below. We seek to encourage and facilitate this action on our platform and growing network. WeBeGreen is an online platform for activists, advisors and project leaders to connect and organise environmental action. Some may organise and recruit for protests, others may instigate clean-up projects, others may launch guerrilla planting campaigns, while others may orchestrate digital action on big polluters. Finally some may even launch businesses on the platform and receive guidance and support from an altruistic and like-minded community fighting for a shared goal. The possibilities are endless and ultimately the community will organise itself. WeBeGreen simply provides the means and the direction.
Each member of the WeBeGreen has a public profile which displays the details they wish to share. The more active they are on the platform, and by extension, in the physical world, the more it is reflected on their profile through points, rank and rewards. As if we didn’t have enough incentive to act, this further encourages members to nurture their accounts, be active and brag about their achievements whilst also keeping a record of them.
